Sezincote House - The Cotswolds Photos

Sezincote House (1807) was built in the Moghul style of Rajasthan, India, and was funded by Colonel John Cockerell who had amassed a fortune through his involvement with the East India Company. Early visitors were amazed by the structure and subsequently the Royal Pavilion in Brighton was influenced by its design. The house, open to visitors, is furnished in the British style of the era. The gardens, restored in 1968, contain elements of the Indian style.
